In this video clip, Fox asks Dr. Charles Krauthammer for his thoughts on John McCain witnessing an undocumented female cross the border from Nogales, Mexico into Nogales, Arizona. Dr. Charles Krauthammer’s said the only way to stop this from happening is building a better fence. He mentions how San Francisco has a three-layered fence that has a “90% reduction of infiltration,” but he is suggesting a two-layered fence across the whole southern border. According to Dr. Charles Krauthammer, liberals and democrats are the main reason the U.S. does not have the border needed to stop illegal immigration.
There is a lot of bias in this video clip because Fox and Dr. Charles Krauthammer are only getting one side of the story. He is very confident in blaming the Liberals and Democrats for not having a secure, fenced border. I did some research on why we the U.S. refuse to build a two-layered fence and Dr. Charles Krauthammer is correct. The senate voted against building a double-tier fence because they do not want the process of legal documentation for illegal immigrants to be delayed while the fence is being built (Dinan, 2013). The senate is composed of 53 Democrats and 45 Republicans and 54 voted against the fence and 43 voted for it. Dr. Charles Krauthammer was right about but the way he said it made Democrats and Liberals look like the bad guys.

The only person who is actually talking throughout the whole video clip is Dr. Charles Krauthammer. He is the 1987 Puliltzer Prize winner for commentary and he is currently a commentator on politics for FOX News (Fox News, 2014).
M-Motivation
To inform the public that Liberals and Democrats are the ones to blame for not having a secure, fenced southern border. And yes, he is correct but he is persuading the audience into thinking that Democrats and Liberals are the only reason there is illegal immigration.
E-Evidence
The only “evidence” in this video clip are the words coming out Dr. Charles Krauthammer’s mouth. He does not show any graphs, photos, videos, or quotes. He does give a percentage on low infiltration in San Francisco but just because he said does not mean it is true.
L-Logic
The only logical thing in this video is making a fence across the border that is secure. It has taken the U.S. seven years to take action to improve border security and it still has not happened (Dinan, 2013).
L-Left Out
A lot of important factors are left out of this video. The only person who gave their insight was Dr. Charles Krauthammer. Having only one person talk about an issue that has two sides is seen as bias. I mentioned earlier that the only evidence viewers had were the words coming out of Dr. Charles Krauthammer’s mouth. There was a couple of things he said that would have made more sense if had a visual of some sort. For example, when he was talking about the different kinds of fencing, it would have been helpful to have a diagram or image of the two types of fences.
